Who is Not Eligible?
- Students who already have a job placement offer in their hands are not eligible
Duration and Timings
- This internship generally lasts for 1 month.
- It always begins on the 1st of the month (e.g., 1st of July 2025)
- If recommended by your college, you may extend the duration from 1 to up to 2 or 3 months. In many colleges, attendance becomes a big problem for the students. Take Panjab University as an example; they’re really strict about it and don’t even allow any relaxation, not even if you’re doing an internship.
- Only 15 students are selected each month, although this number may be extended under special circumstances, especially if a student has a very strong research topic
What You Will Learn and Do During the Internship
- Induction Session: On the first day of internship, you’ll attend an induction session to understand the Competition Act, 2002, its sections, and its importance
- You’ll also become familiar with the Commission’s working style and rules & regulations
- Division Allotment: After induction, you’ll be divided into teams based on your field (e.g., Legal team, Economic team, etc.)
- Assignment of Work: Division heads will assign specific tasks to you
- You may be assigned tasks such as;

- Final Presentation:
- At the end of the internship, you must prepare a final presentation detailing your tasks, work, and learning experience
- If you fail to prepare and submit this final presentation, you will not receive a certificate or stipend
Rules Interns Must Follow
- Full-Time Internship: This is a full-time internship; you must commit fully and work according to CCI office hours
- No Leave or Absence: No leave or absence is permitted during the internship. If rules are violated, your internship may be terminated or extended
- Confidentiality: You cannot share any data or information from CCI with others. Any breach may lead to punishment
- Respect & Discipline: You must be punctual and behave professionally throughout the internship
Stipend
- You will be given ₹15,000 per month upon successful completion of the internship, provided that:
- You complete the internship successfully
- You maintain regular attendance
- You submit the final presentation
- Note: If your performance is poor, or you are absent without permission, or if you fail to follow the rules that are written above, no stipend will be given
